Role overview and responsibilities

Dhruva Space is looking for a skilled RF Engineer to join our team. This role is perfect for a professional with a strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and hands-on experience in Software-Defined Radio (SDR) development. The ideal candidate will bring 3 to 5 years of experience in designing and developing RF systems and subsystems, including transmitters, receivers, and related components. You will play a crucial role in advancing our technological capabilities and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve our project goals.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Design and develop RF systems and subsystems, including receivers, transmitters, and front-end modules.
  • Conduct system-level and detailed-level analysis, such as frequency analysis, spurious analysis, image/half IF rejection, NF/P1dB, and phase noise analysis.
  • Develop Tx & Rx chain architectures, select components, and design schematics.
  • Utilize simulation tools like Keysight ADS and MATLAB for design and performance analysis.
  • Perform RF measurements and testing using network analyzers, signal/spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers.
  • Participate in all phases of product design, including requirements, design, testing, and qualification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion.
  • Support the development and testing of wireless communication systems, including the use of AD9361/AD9363/AD9364 wideband transceivers.

Candidate requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree with VLSI (DSP) and embedded systems are preferable.
  • Over 3 to 5 years of experience in RF design and development with a focus on SDR.
  • Proficiency in RF simulation tools (Keysight ADS, Cadence AWR, HFSS, MATLAB).
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment (network analyzers, signal/spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
  • Strong understanding of RF system and subsystem design, including filters, LNAs, amplifiers, and mixers.
  • Advanced skills in GNU Radio with SDRs like BladeRF, USRP, and HackRF.
  • Experience with FPGA programming and board design.
  • Familiarity with Altium for PCB design.
  • Expertise in modulation techniques like QPSK, 8PSK, and 16APSK.
  • Advanced skills in GNU Radio, RF SOC, JESD interface, SERDES interface, and multi-channel AURORA protocol.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to document and present technical information effectively.
  • Experience in the aerospace or wireless communication industry.
  • Familiarity with wideband transceivers such as AD9361/AD9363/AD9364.
  • Knowledge of RF PCB design and layout.
  • Experience with product qualification and compliance testing.
