Role overview and responsibilities

Dhruva Space is seeking a motivated Associate of Public Relations & Communications with at least 1 year of experience in Aerospace and/or Defence sectors. The hired candidate will be an integral part of the PR, Comms & Marketing team at Dhruva Space, and will work closely with the PR, Comms & Marketing Director in shaping and executing media campaigns, enhancing Dhruva Space’s brand visibility, and managing stakeholder relationships. You will play a key role in driving strategic communications efforts, crafting press materials, and contributing to policy and advocacy initiatives in the Space sector.

This full-time and on-site role, located at the Company’s HQ in Hyderabad, provides the opportunity to gain vital experience and knowledge of the Space sector, as well as the opportunity to work with one of India’s leading private Space companies.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and executing PR campaigns that align with company goals and promote Dhruva Space’s brand in the Space industry;
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and reporters to secure media coverage and enhance brand visibility;
  • Write press releases, media advisories, blog posts, and social media content that tell compelling stories about the company’s achievements and innovations;
  • Draft press notes, executive talking points, and other communication materials for external distribution;
  • Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns and media coverage.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry influencers, analysts, and policymakers;
  • Assist in writing position papers, policy documents, and advocacy communications related to space industry regulations;
  • Help organise press events, media briefings, and company presentations;
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align communications strategies with business objectives; and
  • Monitor industry trends, news coverage, and competitor activity to inform PR strategy.
Candidate requirements
  • At least one year of experience in PR, Communications, or a related field, within the Aerospace and/or Defence sectors;
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise, and compelling press materials and content;
  • Demonstrated understanding of media outreach and experience securing media placements;
  • Ability to track and report on PR campaign effectiveness and media coverage;
  • Experience in managing relationships with external stakeholders and partners;
  • Passion for or knowledge of the space industry is preferred, but not required;
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools, analytics software, and social media platforms;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment;
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical departments; and
  • Highly organised and proactive communication skills with strong attention to detail and project management skills.
